A Message

Oh, to live long enough to hear we've received a message from another race in the cosmos. To finally know for certain in the vast universe that we are not alone would comfort me. Even though the likelihood of us ever meeting would be next to nil, to know there are intelligent beings just as curious if we're out there as we are if they are.

That would be enough for me.

Dreams of My Mother

I recently started a blog to catalog and explore my dreams. I'm a extremely vivid dreamer, a frequent lucid dreamer, and I also dream in color. I love to dream and welcome sleep each night so as to begin the night's adventures. I that blog as a way for me to better understand and share what my unconscious mind is wanting me to know. The Message of the Trees

I've always had an affinity for trees. They are living creatures just as much and you, me, and every other living thing on the planet. When I take my walks I always touch as many as I can. I like to think they recognize my touch and welcome my acknowledgement of them. I call them our Silent Sentinels. I was sitting in a fast food drive thru one afternoon this past Fall. My sunroof was open and I heard the tree in this video rustling in the breeze. This tree was talking. Sending out its message for all to hear. They are a wise species with eons of insights to share with us. If we listen.

The Power of Dreams

I'm a believer in the message and power of dreams. Metaphor is a potent form of non-verbal communication and I think that's what dreams are. It's our unconscious mind's way of communicating with the conscious self.

I share a good many of my dreams with my friend Dan. He too is a believer in the power of dreams as I am. I discussed with him a dream I had last night, and our conversation helped me understand the full meaning of it.

I dreamed last night that I was trying to sew patches of fabric onto a glass window pane. The needle kept breaking and I was unable to get the patches sewn onto the glass. Dan's take was that the window represents light, sight, and clarity. My interpretation was to stop trying to do things that don't work for me. Dan replied that perhaps it meant to stop doing things that aren't working while reaching for the light. Combining the two notions I came to the conclusion that the dream meant to stop doing things (trying to sew fabric onto glass) that were blocking me from the realization of my goals (letting the light in).

If we have the curiosity and patience to investigate the meaning behind the message of our dreams, we can unlock a great many things.
